Doble "F" Engine - Stoecker

Doble F Stoecker   This partially finished engine was started as a partnership between: Dick Olivier, Howard Langdon, Jerry Hackett, and Tom Stoecker.  It started with a Doble “F” engine that Howard Langdon had obtained from Bob Lyon and we think it is one that Besler modified with an extra counter-weight so that it would run smoother.  This is the engine that was in

the Green Monster until it burned up in a shop fire.  The engine was full of oil so it did not distort during the fire.  The engine was CADed and patterns and castings were made from that.  The original engine had rods holding the cylinders to the crankshaft.  This one uses a boxed in welded up crankcase for more rigidity.  It also has an integral differential designed into it.  The construction project is currently on hold due to a lack of sale for these engines.   The Green Monster
